This is a really sweet composition, Danny. The only thing that keeps this from being a 'wow' shot would be the harsh lighting, and that intruding bush from the bottom right corner. Revisit this spot with a slightly different vantage point during some nice warm light, and this will be a real winner!

The park technically closes before sunset so you can't legally get a photo of the Vasquez Rocks in warm light.
Wonderful composition, Danny. I guess the only thing that could make things a bit better would be the softer light. But, as Richard has mentioned that could be almost impossible by park restrictions of access apparently. In similar thoughts, I was reviewing the Torrey Pines area in S.D. on line, and it too has the restrictions of sunrise-sunset access. That's too bad, except I undestand the need for safety and keeping vandals out as much as possible too.

Richard the PCT trail runs right through it and that's open 24 hours. You can park outside and just walk in to get some sunset shots.

I always wondered what it would be like to photograph these rocks when driving along the nearby freeway. I like the way you've used the side light to enhance the definition of these interesting rock formations. That said, I still can't get this image out of my mind every time I see these rocks.
