A friend told me he had some fieldfares visiting his garden so I checked it out and left some apples to attract them down which worked a treat. The snow was a real bonus and that splash of colour of the apples and the bird I think works well. I have always struggled with the thrush family but this winter has been good so I have made the most of it.

Hi Danny,
Thats a bit special. Really like this. As you say the colour in the FG of the Apples really adds to the image IMO. The pose of the FF is spot on to, composition and exposure are bang on too.
Nice work Danny, thanks for sharing

This is a lovely image, with a great deal of imagination gone into obtaining it. Just shows you that its not just the sitting waiting that counts, its what you do before you sit down that matters just as much. Hat off to you again Danny.

This is really nice and different, Danny; but I honestly think that just the three apples nearest the bird would work better, as I feel my eye being drawn down away from the Fieldfare to the OOF apples in the foreground.

Works for me Danny - I like the pattern in the apples as well as the pose on the bird.

Very artistic! It does look a little set up, and that could be emphasised to advantage if the apples on the right and left weren't there, leaving an S-shaped leading line into the bird. The detail on the bird is fantastic.

Without the apples the shot is not.
I would however clone crop a small amount off the bottom to get rid of the leading apple.
Very nive indeed.

The OOF apples act a cracking lead ,a bit over garish in saturation but nice .The two on the right do detract a little but not enough to sway your eye from the super sharp and beautifully posed bird.Nice one Danny, its certainly diffferent .I like it big time.Mark
