These images are from the Grand Canyon North Rim in mid November.
The first was taken at sunrise, the second at sunset.
Both are from about the same location on the Transept Trail, below the Grand Canyon Lodge.
I find these are an interesting contrast in changing light. The skies were bland, but I think the light on the canyon walls compensated.
All C&C welcome.
Note the conversion from Lightroom to sRGB really seems to have boosted the blues. Believe it or not, I can hardly see ANY blue in the first image when viewing it in LR. I don't recall ever having this problem when using Photoshop for web conversions

2 - sunset

3 - I'm partial to color, but here's my attempt at a toned B&W conversion of #1

Bill I have to be honest, number 1 wasn't working for me, but the black & white toned version looks great!

I like the sense of dimensionality in the second image.

I like the sense of depth in #1, the light and color in #2, and I just love #3. (I'm partial to B&W and toned images). For #3 I find my eye drawn to the bright areas at the top. Maybe burn those down a bit? All in all, I like these.

Really like #2 and #3. #1 has too strong of a cyan cast for me. It may go over better if you remove the colo rcast. I like #2 the best.

OK, I agree fully about the blue/cyan saturation in #1.
I'm still blown away by what conversion to the sRGB colorspace did to this image!
It's hard to believe that in the LR colorspace, the blue is hardly noticed.
However, here's a version where I significantly desaturated the blue before web export.

Wow... #2 is really stunning. I agree that #3 works the best as b/w... really amazing.
Great work all-around. The last one, with the desaturated blues is a WOW!

I'm running this scene off my printer right now as I read this. Weird.
I like the first shot pretty well even with the cyan boost, but the B&W conversion of that image looks even better. The quality of light in #2 is great and this is really a classic sunset spot.

I like the repost better, but agree the comp isn't one of your strongest, really like #2. The light and color in all are great. I also like the b&w conversion.

I'm partial to #2, and the repost of #1. I really like the colors in both, and I like the way the foreground in #1 grabs you and leads you into the image. Nice job all around.

I'll dissent with everyone and say I like #1 just as much as #2, but with the reduction in saturation.

Two has great late light color. But I have to say I really like #3 also, very nice conversion. Alomst that sepia look to it. I'd say it's a better version than 1 or 4.

I personally like the b&w version of #1 as it really brings out the texture in the rock. I'm also digging #2, but I'd maybe like to see a little more detail pulled out of the lower right corner.

Thanks so much for the feedback everyone. It sure helps viewing these images through your eyes. I'll be making a number of the suggested changes before printing.

Every one of these is really, really nice. The toned version really jumps out. I'm with Guy on #2.

Nice stuff, Bill--especially #2! Needs more snow, though
