Was out yesterday playing around in the snow and checking on conditions from Rock Creek to the Mammoth Scenic Loop. Went up McGee canyon to the CG and on the way decided to stop and shoot this of Morgan. Big storm finally moving in today w/ several feet expected for the high country and a winter wx advisory for Bishop & the OV today. It's trying to snow as I write this. Supposed to get 2-5" today.
It's been forever since doing any photography and was a little rough getting into the groove yesterday. I've also started a blog
Thanks for looking!

Thanks for keeping us informed of the conditions on your side of the Sierra. A picture is
indeed worth a thousand words. Nice capture. This makes me wish I was in your area
during the next few days. Perhaps I can at least make it to Yosemite NP for some snow
scenics. Your blog is a great idea!

Looks moody and eerie with some impressive mountains. I would try doing some selective darkening to see if you can enhance that.
P.S. I found your Flickr stream through your blog. Great stuff on there. You've got me thinking about planning a run out to the Owens Valley sometime this winter

Looks really neat for you being a bit rusty with the camera as you had mentioned, Cory. Heck, it's just like riding a bike, right? With the subdued sunlight this open horizon works very well with the smaller amount of terrain included. A rare scene where more open sky has worked much better to enhance the image IMO. Breaking the 2/3's rule surely does work at times. Nicely done.

Thanks for commenting Paul! Kinda like riding a bike, just a little wobbly What's the 2/3 rule

As I said over at ESS, I like this one.
I have the 9/10 rule. 9 out of 10 of my images will stink, and that is on a successful trip.
Too funny Harley.
After years of doing this my round file seems to fill quicker then my file cabinet does with images. I guess I'm still working on getting this photo thing down pat, so to speak of course !

I get a nice ominous feeling when looking at this one Corey.

I was comming back on 395 that day from death valley. The clouds over the sierra were a massive cover. The west side must've been something thick. We hit a lot of rin and snow over the passes.

My best friend just returned from his brother's house in Bishop this past weekend and was telling me it was beautiful up there, and that I should get my butt up there. Seeing this image I can see why it must be great to be up in that region about right now. I'm jealous.
