Chuckouts??!! I'd be pretty happy with this. The effect on the water is superb in my opinion. Great composition makes for a great scene - one of your best (again!)
That wonderful John , my sister lives near the Lathkill in Derbyshire, I shot many many dippers at 1/ 200th and got very few pin sharp , let alone 1/25 .

Nice classic Dipper. I'd have maybe liked to see a little more blur in the water to really pull it off but still an effective shot

Thanks all.
I agree about the water blurr and I tried it down to 10 th sec but no way could i get the bird anything like sharp. And I only had a few tries anyway. Clould have tried choc flavoured kippers ! I heard of someone doing these birds with Bullheads in a tank !

Worth a few chuckouts if you end up with something like this. Excellent shot.

The water blur and detail in both the light and dark colours is superb John. Great shot again

There are reported "artifacts " in this picture, which may indicate something that I am not quite sure about and to be honest not too bothered about at the moment, but which have a sinister undertone as to their reasons for being brought to every one's attention.. However I would ask you all to down load this picture and blow it up or do what you want with it or ask me for the original and please then point out these "artifacts ". to me I can't find any, and this bird was photographed in the company of at least one other person, so all I can asssume is that someone is seeing something that I am not and cannot for the life of me imagine why. I would imagine with my limited computer skills that an image downsized from 4x3 thousand pixels to 720, would show some JPG problems at compression,.but maybe I am wrong.

The particular quote about this pictre by NB was -
"And I won't mention the strange "give the game away" artifacts on Dipper image; if you are going to pontificate about ethics John, you need your own to be better than sqeaky clean!
This neesds to be sorted .
If no one else does then I certainly will.
I need to know exactly what "give away artifacts " are.
