import or USA

I have been curious about the import vs USA products. For example, a brand camera (slr) can have a significant savings in cost with import vs USA. Has anyone had any experiences with these two classifications? I thought it a question worth asking.

Nikon USA will not repair or service imports. Period. If you are considering high end equipment from them it's definitely a factor.

Why risk the chance of expensive repairs with an imported camera. Charlie hit the nail on the head. My vote is USA all the way (rhyme not intended). :toast:

To save $$, I try to buy refurb models that do have U.S. warranty. I bought a Nikon D300 for $1050 several months ago.
