Each week the Fauna Gallery tends to develop a personality - some weeks "animalscapes" are all the rage, while in other weeks close-ups predominate. This past week we had a lot of wildlife portraits show up - and it was a real pleasure to be viewing all the images!

Here are this past week's Honourable Mentions: Lon Sharp gave us a striking (and unique) look at a bison with his "Bison Portrait". Julia Flanagan presented us with a beautiful image with her simple but extremely appealing image entitled "Glacier Goat". And, Danny Laredo found a way to get up close and personal with a cat with amazing eyes in his "pseudo-portrait" simply called "Leopard".

I really struggled in choosing between two outstanding images for the Pick of the Week. Billy Fairburn loves to be creative, and his "Twilight Leopard" is a striking silhouette that any wildlife photographer would love to have in his/her portfolio. But, in the end, I selected James Campbell's powerful yet delicate portrait titled "African Buffalo with Oxpecker" as the Pick of the Week.

Congratulations to all!

Congrats to James. I picked it as a winner the moment I saw it mid-week! Nice image and a well deserved winner.
