Abit better than my last 'soft' dipper shot i hope. These birds are beautiful up close but they are impossible to 'stalk' i got lucky here and i feel i was well rewarded by being able to take this photo

a great shot. I'd maybe lose a tiny bit off the top but that's a very minor nit!
Hi Craig a very nice image was it taken locally that is in Staffordshire.

Like Matt, I feel that you could crop a bit off the top, but other than that a shot I would be proud to have taken.

Very nice craig, I'd also be very happy with this. Maybe cropping off the bluer bits of sky to simplify the palette?

Nice colours, I can see the point about cropping a tad from the top (talk about trying to get your point across Magnus ) although it still works well and would make a great front cover image!

Nice image. The comments above about the "front cover image" potential are really important. The shot as is might get slight criticism for the light band of sky at top, purely from an aesthetic/artistic/photographers POV, but from a picture editor's or designers POV this is a really usable image as it is, as it has space for text, and a title at top without encroaching on the 'feel' of the subject/composition. (Although they'd probably flip it to face the opening page). Creative empty space in an image is rarely wasted! Nice grouse!
