Thinking of going to this area over Easter holiday, do any of the british participants know the area? any good for birdphotography? any recommendations for good accomodation (cottages)
many thanks

I live about 10 minutes away from Buckden. The area should be coming to life around easter with more birds reappearing. The high land around Buckden is good for owls and the fields at the foot of the Dale should be starting to see more Curlew and Oystercatchers. The River Wharfe is often good for Kingfishers. Try www.dales-holiday-cottages.com or www.dalegarth.co.uk for accommodation. This pub (www.whitelioncray.com) also does accommodation and is about a mile out of Buckden (I'm going there for dinner tonight). Let me know if you need any more specific information.

I live in the Hope Valley. Happy to help with some site info if you want to email me. Let me know any species you are after in particular but things like Red Grouse, Short Eared Owl, Dipper, Mountain Hare etc are all possible.
