I joined npn a couple of weeks ago but was wondering why there isnt a regional Canadian forum?

I'm guessing that we are too widely distributed geographically.

I've thought about it for ages, and wanted to suggest to create one...but as Greg said...we are too spread out really...anyone interested in creating an Ontario group?

Let's see what kind of interest an Ontario forum draws. I'm in!

Why not just add provinces into the existing forums? For example, British Columbia into the Pacific Northwest NP, Alberta into the Rocky Mountain NP, Ontario into the Northeast NP ...

Being a rabid Nationalist/Federalist, I would love to see a Canadian Forum. For now I will view all forums, with particular interest in anything mountainous.

There are sound arguments for lumping most of Canada in with other regions. But, Ontario doesn't quite fit with any of the other regions already in existence. Surely there are enough of us in Ontario to warrant a forum. I'd be a regular participant for sure -- it'd be nice to share some location suggestions and whatnot.

After posting, I realized the political implications of my comment. I assure you I strongly support Federalism!

My thinking is that most provinces have a fair bit in common with the states adjacent to them in terms of geographic boundaries.

I'd just like to point out to other nationalities in NPN, as this thread indicates, just how much Canadians ignore their North.

David, my apologies. I'm guilty as charged.
I would love to see more images from the Yukon, Northwest and Nunavut Territories on NPN. This is a vast area with tremendous photographic opportunities although accessibility is a challenge.

I'm all for a Canadian forum - hopefully you all let a guy from Manitoba join in! Gotta love that Canadian Shield photography! Btw, am I the only guy here from Manitoba??

I for one would be in support of a Canadian forum. I don't have the numbers but there is quite a few Canadian photographers here.

In regards to Canada being geographically diverse I say big deal. There is already an UK?Europe forum and we all know how diverse Europe is.

I'd be in favour of a Canadian forum. Off the top of my head, I can think of about ten Albertan's in particular that frequent NPN, two of whom are NPN staff, so I don't think that there's a shortage of us or that we're too spread out.

Its too bad that there isnt one, from what ive seen there's quite a few great photographers in Canada and the different regions, it doesnt really make sense that there isnt any in Canada. Who sets them up the moderators or just members?

I'd love to see a Canadian forum as well. I wouldn't have a problem with it being national instead of regional.
