One of the very few waterfalls in Death Valley... I can't tell if I have a personal attachment to this one, or if it's genuinely 'good'. What do you all think? I personally am drawn to the geometrical shapes from the cracks in the rock that all seem to converge in the dark hole. But maybe it's just me, that happens sometimes.

Overall I like it - kinda like a Zoro signature or something.

I think it's a nice image. I like the graphic lines of the rocks being broken up by the flowing water.

The color is good too.

Looks really good to me, Floris. I agree with your thoughts on the image and would also go along with Dan's input with regard to color too.

It's a nice capture but I'm not over the top crazy for it either...

Probably as good a shot as you'll see from this area. Comp, colors and exposure are all very good. I can't find anything to suggest, but I just don't think the nature of this subject matter lends itself to anything other than a nice photo. I do think it would make a nice addition to a DV collection though.

Floris,

I wouldn't say this was "genuinely good," I would say this was genuinely great! The comp is tight and compact, yet feels very comfortable; meaning the image doesn't feel squeezed or forced. I love the diagonals. The color, exposure... they all look spot on. I can see why you would have an attachment to this one. This is excellent.

Thanks folks for the honest feedback. Glad it works for you Lon, at least it's not just me

Looks like the falls just above Darwin Falls. I'll say it a good one for DV.

Pretty cool Floris. The diagonals made by the dark cracks are really nice, and create a nice flow through the image.

I realize the composition was meant to include the stream in the bottom right, but the waterfall flowing toward and so close to the left edge seems crowded to me. The way the top is cut off rather abruptly also bothers me.
