Not quite the classic pose on a tree trunk I was after, but was still pleased to get this one out in the open. The background is more ot less as it was, but is it just too light ..? Easy enough to brush down I suppose, but interested in thoughts.

Try changing the background colour to the image to black in the posting options as I think it might help as on this screen at work the top of the frame seems to be blending in to the page a little. I'd like to see a tad more light on the face too but it's a great pose!

the background is a little bright for me Dave, but a nice sharp pose.

Thanks for the comments. I'll go back and have another look and try the black frame too.

nicely caught, would agree with the frame comments too :)

Well captured classic pose Dave. Don't think the darker face or light background are individually big issues, just perhaps just the two together make the variation in tones much more apparent. Agree a dark frame or outline would help "hold it in"
An excellent portrait of a very active subject. Think you were up against it here re your viewpoint/lighting, you did well tho’.

Very nice, great pose and details. The light background isn't really for me, although it's only the really bright white patch that bothers me. The bird could perhaps do with a little lift on the head and underside. But I think the exposure is pretty good considering the conditions.
