Kyle, welcome to dues paying membership. You can find your NPN member number by clicking on the "Preferences" in the toolbar above your post here. The last four digits of your uber-long member ID form the pertinent number.
If NPN eventually uses up that many digit placements, we'll have more members than we have members of the human species. I think Jim's expecting life on Mars and much MUCH farther out in the galaxy. Either that or he's planning on attracting bears, birds and bees as members.
Steve...that's the number that I need to enter in. There is no number there.

Oh, sorry. If you want, you can e-mail Jim directly with the question at editor@naturephotographers.net.
This might help. It's at the bottom of the User FAQ page, which you can find by going to the toolbar and dragging down from "Forums."
I just became a member of the Nature Photographers Network™ - how long do I have to wait to be able to upload photos? To ensure proper care, we process all new memberships manually. We send each new member our "welcome email" within 24 hours, which includes all of the information needed to activate your membership benefits (including the "browse/upload" function on the Post a Photo screen).
Ok....so in the FAQ page it states that the staff will email me an ID and whatnot within 24 hours of my becoming a member. So i shouldn't have an ID number that I can get access to as of yet.

Kyle, thanks for joining! We sent your membership info to your charter.net email address - please let us know if you have not received it. In the mean time I updated your NPN registration with your membership number so you are GTG (good to go)!

You're just up the road from me...give me a shout sometime.
Where are you located Richard??? I didn't know you were that close. Didn't I shoot you an email about a 20D?
