Barn Owl
Taken in Lincolnshire last July, with 1D MK3 and 600 F4L with 1.4TC, light looks a little flat, but it was getting on in the evening (20:18).

ISO 640
F5.6
1/800th

Very nice and excellent eye contact. I am sure you are expecting it, but I'll say it anyway. A bit close to the edge on the lhs, but I would take it gladly.

Lovely, I like the background too! Nice pose, but perhaps a little tight on the left as mentioned.

Nice shot.

Thats nice Ian , its never easy getting these birds in flight , much of the time they show when the best light has gone . From the car , they seem to be slowly drifting over the fields , look at them through 600mm of lens and they seem supersonic.often twisting left and right as they go . I have more shots of them going out of frame than I do dead centre. For me I quit like the fact that its flying into the picture, nice shot.

Thanks all for the comments :)

Yes i realise it was a little close to the left of frame, it isnt cropped at all, is as shot, but i was aiming for it to be flying into frame rather than out of it.

Very nice shot - you really got close. I would be tempted to crop a little from the top and right.

A little close to the edge of the frame but a good, close view of a beautiful bird captured in challenging conditions.
