Edit: Having posted earlier today about being down in the dumps regarding my abilities and reading some great advice, I decided to reflect on my progress overall..
So sitting at home, i decided to peruse some of my older stuff and got to my folder with all my d70 images in it. Found one that had been trashed originally but now i actually like it.. Its about a 40% crop of a husky through the slits in the fence in our backyard.
I know its far from being well put together from a technical aspect, but not much i can do about it now.. this was shot 4 years ago...
Anyone ever browse old archives to see how far they've progressed as a photographer??
For me its been nice to find an old "gem" and really compare then to now...

And I know I heartily disagree! (should've seen what I originally typed!) This is very, very good! You've really captured the essence of this animal, and done so in strikingly beautiful fashion. I might want to see less of the snout, but that's just because you're so close to including the nose that its absence is noticeable. But this is great!

minor crop per Todds suggestion.
Im glad you like it!! All i was referring to is the non "tack sharpness" And the light noise and nit picky stuff..
Overall its one of my favorites from my early stuff!
Thanks Todd... i feel all warm and fuzzy :)

This was a nice find from the Archives Nate, very nicely composed, the slight crop helps the image!.

I occasionally go through my old stuff, usually to add keywords or find a file and it is amazing what you find. Sometimes I think I'm getting better, other times I find a great shot that I didn't process very well at that time. Always I wish I had had a better camera back then! Always I intend to go back to that location and reshoot!

I'm with you and Bill. I've recently gone back through some older files and definitely feel I'm getting better...or at least can now look at the older images and critique them better..."if I could do it over, I would have (tweaked this setting, moved to the left, etc.)". I find that encouraging - hope you do too!
I really like this shot, btw! It's always fun to find gems hidden in the archives. Nice work!

I'm often going through my older files searching for images to fill a stock request. It's fun to find a "new" image in the old material.
