McNeil River - Deadline for Lottery March 1

If you want to photograph brown bears, for my money the best place in the world is McNeil River Bear Sanctuary. It's a lottery, but the odds aren't horrible. Details here.

The deadline for applications is March 1. There's an on-line process. Seriously, folks, I have a shot with 44 bears in the frame.

McNeil River is definitely a once in a lifetime opportunity I recommend everyone try. I was there in August last year and it was one of the highlights of my summer. Despite the fact I found out I was allergic to bees on that trip and almost had to be sent on a medivac out.

Definitely plan on entering the lottery again next year when I'm eligible.
