Second Beach Sunrise/Alternate Comp.
Just curious as to what you think of this compared to my other over on the ESS forum. Thanks for any comments! Chip

Both are very solid shots, but I prefer the darker, more saturated colors of the ESS version. I am a bit bugged by the clipped rock along the left edge. In a perfect world, it would have been nice to be able to compose with it just out of the frame. Not sure if that was possible though. But no matter how you slice it, these are two very nice sunrise photos.

Opps, forgot about that rock. I will remove it, it just doesn't seem to bother me so much. Thanks for the thoughts Aaron.

As Aaron said, but I prefer the composition and elements of the surf in this one. I would like to see it darker and more contrasty like the other one though. Perhaps the same processing on this one? I agree that the rock on the left would be great if it were gone, but it's not a deal breaker. I think it only stands out so much because of how minimal the scene is.

I think the lines of the bubble trails are vastly superior in the other shot, but I like the light on the FG rock in this one better.

Tough choice, Chip, they're both excellent. The ESS version is more luminous in the middle ground water, and then there is that amazing bubble trail. They are different enough to have separate identities for sure.

Nice color captured and good shutterspeed, both are great.

Yea, both are nice - lose the Left rock and this is even better..... nice shots, Chip. I'm assuming you spent the night there ?
