Taken this afternoon under overcast conditions, a few turnstones where hunting through the seaweed when this guy dropped down in front of me. What do you think? Any C&C appreciated.

Very nice indeed. The composition is great, the bird sharp and colours good. I love the OOF forground here. Only thing that troubles me is the brightness in the background - maybe it could be toned down a bit?

Nice, the composition is good and the oof rocks seem to echo the birds plumage which is nice. I would agree the the background is a little bright, but think that the bird needs a little lift too, which would balance it more. I was thinking the bird was a little soft around the eye, but perhaps that's my monitor (or eyes...) as Ian says its sharp!

Anyway, a lovely shot with a great pose, and the colourful legs really stand out!

Thanks, the background looks ok on my monitor, I wish there was a bit more light on the bird but I am happy seeing as though it was very overcast,

Might be tempted to take a bit off the top to remove the OOF stones behind its head which draw my eye a bit. Otherwise just a little bright in the background here
