Lower Falls of the Yellowstone in Winter
Taken a year ago near Artist Point which was closed at that time. Pentax K10D and DA*16-50mm f/2.8.

Did you take a snowcat tour out there or rent a snowmobile? Either way that's a fun trip as I did the snowcat tour a few years back. The only bummer is that you're forced to shoot in the tough midday conditions. The problem with the composition of this shot is that falls kind of get lost amongst the detailed landscape surrounding it. Did you try to isolate the falls with a telephoto at all? I remember that as being the composition I was most pleased with.

Wow... looks incredible in the winter. I've never seen it like that before.

Thanks for the replies. Guy, I did take the snowcoach tour last year. Unfortunately I only brought the DA*16-50 with me and this was shot at 50mm. If I get to go this winter I'll have at least the DA*50-135 which I used last fall.
