The sun came out this afternoon and I decided to go for a short session up the Icicle Canyon, a five minute drive from my house. While the south and west facing slopes of the canyon are starting to experience a bit of a thaw, the other side is locked firmly in ice. I tromped down through the snowy talus, set up the tripod on a nice, slippery boulder and shot this image on the other side of the water.

Not a bad comp and you used a nice shutter speed. I would crop off the top a bit to get rid of the blown highlight. Maybe it isn't totally blown but a bit distracting.

According to the histogram it's not blown, but I'll admit it draws the eye. It's a problem because cropping that off means losing the ice detail on the right side.

Marc,
I like this shot. The colors, the softness of the water flowing and the crisp ice makes a nice image.

OK. Here's a new one with the bright snow burned down slightly. What do you think?
