I was going through some older files. I found this from Jan of 08. Taken on frosty morning as the sun rose. What really attracted me was how the sun caught the grasses and highlighted them, almost given them the look of mist coming up from the ground. Earth's spirits rising from the warmth the sun was providing. Kinda deep, I know, but.............

That's not swearing, I dragged an dropped the winking smile. Won't do that again. Bruce
Hey Mitch - this is a very thought-provoking image to me. The B/W treatment of this scene is nice - makes me want to head out to the forest right now and see what I can find!
You took a pretty major jump in camera's with your semi-recent upgrade. The funny thing about this photo is that I don't get any real sense of cold from it. Perhaps it's the lack of snow, and the strong presence of the sun. It certainly reminds me of places near where I live. Nicely done.

Nice capture of the sun on the grasses, Mitch. I also like the star effect of the sun, but do wish it was a bit more off center.

Nice one Mitch! I love the grass, too. By the way "Canon 20D (at the time)" I still use mine. Nothing wrong with it at all.
Peace,

Thanks for the responses. I wish I still had my 20D. Sold to another lucky soul! Then bought a 5D, then water damage on it beyond repair, then bought the DS III, should have waited ! My luck!
Really nice execution, Mitch. The light on the grass cutting through the trunks at regular intervals really makes this sing. I think it's even a little bit stronger if cropped from the right to 4x5 which deals with the off-center issue that Toni mentioned.
