I've been watching it for around a week now and it's still active at 11:30 in the morning. If it's not fidgeting in a tree then it's hunting. Seems quite confiding as well. I've now found 6 Barn Owls within 10 min's of home. Unfortunately, not seen any in pairs though.

Hi ARD,
Looks like a Male to me, and if there are 6 in a local area he will find a mate I'm sure Whats the habitat like where these are? Is it a wet or flooded? If he is out that late, he might be struggling to find food, but he looks in good condition. If my memory serves me right, you are in Suffolk? Would be nice to know which area you are in and if I can help getting some boxes up for the Owls.

Very nice shot, but perhaps a little tight, I'd prefer the bird not so close to the LHS, and the post disappearing into the grass rather then the bottom of the frame.

He's looking at the voles undermining the post
Nice looking shot. 6 barn owls so close to home - I'm very jealous!
