Superb study in blue grandients.
The centeied shrub actually works well in #1. Maybe it's because of the counterbalance from Venus.

I agree with Bill on #1, the centred tree works really well with venus to balance it!. I like the soft tones of blue and pink in both images!.

Sweet shots, Klaus! As cool as Venus is in the first shot, i still think it would be better balanced as 1/3 sky, 2/3 water. But its great regardless!

Another fine set of sunsets, Klaus. I like the simplicity of the first one. I really like the reflecting colors in the second one, too. Where is this? You've found a nice location!

Thank you all very much for the kind comments and ideas.
Jamie,
Thanks and this is here at lake pueblo state park. About 5 minutes from my house.

Nice images. I really like the first one.

I'm really diggin' that first one, Klaus. Good eye. I agree with Bill that the centered comp works well with the shrub and Venus working together.
As a suggestion, I'd be tempted to crop off just the darkest part of the sky. Having dark bands at top and bottom makes me feel more confined. With blues exiting the top of the frame, it feels better balanced and more expansive to me. Very nice work.

Beautiful images Klaus!! I really like the first one. The comp looks good to me, but I can see Rick's suggestion about cropping a little bit off the very top where it is the darkest. It's a very soothing image regardless.
The 2nd image is really nice as well, but I think the right side of the image is lacking. I feel like the black silhouette of the shoreline on the right breaks up the harmony of the soft pastel color palette. Maybe a square crop on this one might be interesting to play around with?

Beautiful shot! There is nothing ever Simple about a sunset. You could get lost for hours in this one.
