I re-processed a couple of sunset images from last Fall using basic HDR. I actually de-saturated both the images after creating the HDR images, bringing them closer to the actual RAW files. I don't use HDR too often at all, so am a novice with the processing!.
Like has been mentioned many times in this forum, many HDR images just look over the top. I've seen a few of you guys posting very natural looking HDR images, I think the trick is definitely getting them to look natural. Hopefully these don't look too over cooked, but give me your thoughts!.

One more.

They look quite natural to me, Nick. I like both, though I'm partial to the vertical. I like the inclusion of more foreground.

These are nice, Nick! I like the second one a little better. The clouds are a little electric, but still very nice. Let's see some more!

Nick,
Wonderful images. The color in the first looks a bit on the yellow side. I would like to see the blue in the sky a little more blue so to speak. The second shot is a beauty. A little more detail in the fg would be nice but still a very nice shot.

I think you did a good job here, Nick. Having seen many sunsets from here (Rabbit Mtn right?) the colors look right to me.

Thanks guys!. Klaus, I agree with you on #1, the yellow could be toned down some - I think the HDR process boosted the yellows and I forgot to re-adjust them!.
Paul, yes you are dead on, Rabbit Mountain open space!.

Lightened the FG some more, especially the trees!. Does this work better?.

Oh yeah, that's much better!

The reworked one is really nice, Nick. The added foreground detail makes a big difference. Minor nit, but I think you could still remove some yellow; not as noticeable as in the horizontal image, but worth experimenting with, imo. You could adjust overall color balance. Or, it's most noticeable to me in the sky, so you could the selective color adjustment to zero in on just the blues. Regardless, very nice work!

That last post is outstanding, Nick--good stuff!

Well done, Nick. I definitely prefer the vertical composition. The repost looks great!

The reworked shot is a beauty. You have some wonderful things to look at there.
