I photographed this flower on the bank of a new exit
to Merced off St. Route 99. Caltrans planted the seeds
which gave a beautiful bloom last spring, owing to the
ground being completely free of wild grasses and weeds.
It was a mecca for macro work. This year it looks like
the flowers will be competing with the weeds and I'm
afraid that the latter is going to win. With the aid
of extension tubes plus a fast shutter speed I handheld.
I increased the hue/saturation slightly.

I like the feathery shapes and soft colors captured here. Nice work!
