Sorry I've been too busy with my local photo activities. Recently visited several places in Orange County and collected quite a few images.

Took this shot yesterday. With recent rain and spring weather, should have better flowers pretty soon, stay tuned. Comments and suggestions welcomed. 5DM2, 1/60 sec at f/5.6, ISO 1250 at 135mm, converted to jpg from raw.

That is the Nature-iest mail box I have everseen. The could think you're nuts but you might as well show it to him.

Andre, you sure seem to find some unique items to fill your viewfinder with, this surely fits that agenda. Nicely seen & captured. The DOF choice has a bit of a different twist here with the BG vines too.

Hi,

Thanks for you comment. I do have some problem with DOF control in this image. That's something I have to correct in the next version.

Although not a a painter, I enjoy paintings and go to museums and antique shops observing paintings all the time. When I see through the viewfinder, I always want to recreate the paintings in my mind(pre-visualizatoin?). When I spotted this mail box, I said to myself: "I've seen this painting somewhere before." There are a few other images I took that day I felt the same way and I'll post them here later. However I've notice the difference between photography and painting. Painting can be the purest form. A painter can select what s/he wants to put on the canvas, but a photographer has no choice but include everthing in the image. I feel this image is too busy for me. If I were to paint this, I will trim the leaves and background noise off the subject and make the mailbox stand out more, may be make the background more dirt/sand brownish to support the subject.

Any comments and suggestions?

I like the way the exposed vines and new leafs envelop that mail box. I might favor a slight crop to eliminate those red objects at the bottom of the frame and maybe that tree trunk in the ULC. Nice find!
