I am looking into one of these, for example the HP 2133 or MSI Wind or similar. Reason being that they are compact, easy to take with me. I wouldnt do any Photoshop work on the laptop anyway. I would only use Breezebrowser and maybe word on the machine and ofcourse wireless internet access. I am aware that some dont have a large HD capacity but i am using a very compact external 120GB compact hard drive. I see some of these machines have Linux installed ....is that ok?
I was wondering if anyone uses one of these kind of laptops. Any pitfalls and recommendations appreciated.
Yes, Samsung NC10 upgraded to 2GB ram, OS = Windows XP. Would recommend it for travel. Will run PS, but as you have said, I'd leave that to when you get home.

I'm waiting for August this year. Take a look at these very low energy ARM powered netbooks due out from June onwards.
I have an acer aspire one with both xp and linux on, the canon software will not load as it say's screen resoloution to low 1024x600 I'll have to hook up an external monitor, set higher res and try again.

As a long term RISC OS user I am very interested in learning that there are efforts to port the OS to at least one of them.
