A species i would love to have in my files and i really like the setting.
Would have preferred a less central placement of the Plover but that's nitpicking a lovely shot.

Very nice photo ray of a bird that's hard to find/see  bg nice and colours ,the only thing for me is it's to much in the centre  .

Ray

Why do we take photographs of avian species?

Maybe for identification or record. Artistic impression or activity data. The sheer challenge.

Why is central positioning so wrong? It appears to be the most common nit on this forum I have never understood why. I've seen some great central positioned subjects which display fantastic detail.

The central position doesn't bother me too much, I think the bird is just small enough in the frame to pull it off. Nice looking bird!

Lewis.

Barry

I’ll send you an e-mail later today, I’m not being a secret squirrel, it’s just that from experience, if I answered as I feel your comments deserve, then this thread will diversify away from the initial reasons that I posted it as I did, and I’ll have to reach for my hard hat again.

I will say this tho’, that on a personal note, I do think the image would be improved with cropping, but I wanted others thoughts, without imposing my own. Which is why I always post full frame.

The bird stands out really well regardless of it's position a very nice sharp picture.

Nice shot, Ray, exposure spot on. Low point of view works well.
Awful lot of dust bunnies on show though - might want to get the clone stamp out!

The bird stands out superbly from the background. I'd prefer to see it to one side looking into the picture, but that's just me.

I certainly think it is one of the best shots you have ever posted on here.
