sometimes you just get lucky, this hedgehog was out and about around 2:30 today at Elmley, of all places. This is not a captive animal nor is it controlled in anyway. Certainly hard to get a clean shot of it so was quite happy with this one, have some less "mushy" shots too for those that like a higher angle.
Nice Jack, i've noticed the slugs are about atm, so these guys will be feeding like crazy after the cold winter. Looks like a tough week ahead with possible snow in places.

thanks for the comment Paul
just noticed this seems a little warm, i thik this one will be better
I certainly did miss this... (had to go watch a Hockey match and do my monthly shop))... nicely taken, I think I prefer the warmer version, or inbetweeen.
Nice work Jack, like Phil I think I would go somewhere in between in terms of warmth. Looks like it's been a hard winter indeed for this little one.. I can see at least 2 ticks, 1 in its ear and the other on its lumbar region.. A good number of invertebrates about just now but the week ahead might put a stop to that.. Might just take out that bits of grass in front of its foreleg and poking him in the rear.., very minor but will just tidy up a bit.. Thanks for sharing..
I don't think one or two bother them. We did remove over 120 from a hog that came in to the wildlife hospital and they had nearly killed him (but he survived once they were removed)

I feel sorry for the little guy and his ticks.
Think I prefer the warmer version. Well seen and taken.
