I'm not so sure about this one , but I kind of like the impressionist feel of this. What do you guys think?

I think a graduated grey boarder would work better than the solid black. I wish the stump in the background wasn't there. Other than that, I think it's not too bad.

Hmmm... I'm real sure about what I feel about it but I'm not sure if it's correct for me to say theses days....

Is this better, Erik?

I like the stump gone but I was talking the grey to have a gradient(light to dark). That said, I'm just not sure the image works.

Joseph, I get what you were trying for, but I think this is still pretty literal. Although there is a nice focal point with the yellow, there is not too much of interest in the frame even with that. Impressionistic would need a little more motion blur, panning, zooming, etc. And subject matter is as important as in any other shot. I encourage you to keep trying!

Thanks everyone for your input, much appreciated. Catherine, you're right, I should have blurred the shot for a more Monet-like feel. Erik, not sure if I can add a gradiated border with my old version of elements, so here's a blurred version without a border.

I like the idea here, Joe, but I think you're pushing a rope.

Thanks guys, my thoughts about this one are confirmed. I like the second version best, but in the end, it doesn't really work for me either!

I like what you were trying for Joe, and would sure keep an eye out for other opportunities. A photo with denser grass, no tree, and zoomed out some (minimizing the flowers a little) would be pretty cool.

Second one is best; if the yellow petals weren't blown you would be on to something.
