I am having problems with CS4 on my desktop computer.

The computer is about 6 years old and its spec is :-

CPU AMD Athlon (TM) XP 1900+
Clock Frequency 1.6 GHz
Socket A
RAM 2.0 GB

Motherboard
Manufacterer ASUSTEK
Model A7V333

Display Radeon 8500 Series
Driver Version 8.252.0.0
Driver Date 03/05/2006
RAM 64 MB DDR SGRAM/SDRAM

CS4 installs without any problems. When I try to run it after installation it stops during “Initializing” and the Adobe icon disappears from the screen.

CS4 runs on my laptop without any problems.

Can anyone offer any suggestions of the cause of the problem?
I had wondered if the Radeon card is not powerful enough. If this is the case can anyone suggest a new card that is powerful enough for CS4 and compatible with the rest of my computer?

Thanks for any help

I had a similar issue with my new system and had to reinstall CS4 to get it to work. I would suggest you open up a case with Adobe to have them help you through this issue. From looking at your hardware specs, your system is not the issue.

If you get the problem solved, I would definitely consider another 2 gig of RAM and at least 256 mb of video memory. You can probably get a recommendation from the manufacturer, or ATI on the chipset for that motherboard.
