Satellite tracking swans
WWT are satellite tracking several whooper swans as they migrate to and from Iceland. I just heard that the website that will allow the public to track the swans online will be up later this week. Access via www.wwt.org.uk. As I understand it the project is funded by an energy company to plan future wind farm sites away from migration routes. I guess it will all be on the site. I think it's really cool that we can all be involved in this.

Cheers

Yes, WWT have been doing this for at least a couple of years. Makes fascinating watching when you can track individuals all the way to their breeding grounds. I wish the energy company best of luck with establishing migration routes - individuals appear to have very individual routes and the previous websites haven't given information about altitude, as far as I can remember.
