Interesting! Canon just gave me one of these to replace a Mk2 that failed five times. What delights have I in store with the Mk3.....

Bet they will be inundated again-sounds like a recall but Canon obviously dont want to call it that

Cheers Dave,

Have registered my Canon.

I will return the favour:wink:.

Anybody who as a Nikon D3 can get there focus and black dot issues potentially solved by downloading this from the Nikon site.

May be someday these companies will catch all these issues before selling you and me the cameras. :frown:

I upgraded my D3 with the latest firmware and it made my autofocus very unresponsive so I changed it back.
Just goes to show if is not broke don't fix it.

I've only just brought one and noticed straight away the difference when using the other focus points away from the centre, I also dislike the focus point set up, why couldn't they leave as it was on the mark 2s, it's a step backwards if you ask me :frown:

I'm a bit miffed to be honest, I thought they had sorted this problem and after all this time I can't see this issue with the AF being fixed...

I find this extremely galling.
I was one of the first to point out the AF problem with the Mk3 and I have been ridiculed and abused for my pains. My Mk3 was "fixed" by Canon 3 times and calibrated to the lenses I was using, but it still would not produce results that were satisfactory. I stopped using it completely last June and recently traded it in when I bought a Nikon D3. In so doing I dropped £2k on the purchase price.
Thank you, Canon.
