Corner Post (addition)
I've shot this post before, I find it an interesting subject to play with. Most of the hills are in the far distance in all directions. This was in late afternoon last Saturday. I'll try to post a few more views soon.

Lens: Canon EF17-40 f/4L @ 17mm
Exposure: f/16, 1/160
Crop: Full Frame

Brad, just this last Saturday? So the area didn't get any of the snow that hit NE Kansas? I like this view but I'm wondering if you have any from further right where the barbed wire doesn't intersect the distant (smaller) hill.

See, I'm starting to get really picky with your work. Thanks for sharing!

I love these old fence posts, nice shot with beautiful lighting and color. This photo really says "home" to me. I can see this in a future issue of Kansas Magazine.

I would agree that the fence intersecting the hill is maybe less than ideal.

Old fenceposts are such interesting subjects, and while you've done a nice job with the scene here, I think a sunrise/set with a little snow might make this a lot stronger. Maybe a good reason to keep going back...?

Brad, I really like the contrast in colors and the fence adds to your compostion.

Nice job, with good color and some clouds in the sky. I can see where the other suggestions would improve the shot.

Hey Brad, All of the above.... You really got some "pop" on the blues for the sky. Saturday we were just plain old cold around here. I still haven't been able to get the Flint Hills dust washed off my truck.

Here's a slightly more open view in which the fence doesn't intersect the hill which I found to be an interesting observation. There is obviously some time difference between the shots. The sky in this I just don't like. The clouds are a non factor and the blues with this image are not the same as with the other. As we know it's all about the light, and even a few minutes difference at the same location can seem to make or break an image to me.

Wayne as far as the snow, yeah there was snow around, it just gets somewhat lost in the tall grass. I'll post a shot of the road next to this fence line. This as you probably are aware is south of Manhattan and there did seem to be less through this area than on east.
