Ouray Ice
I went over to the Ice Park today to try out my new toy!

Keep 'em coming Jack! Would love to hear your impressions of the new toy after you've put it through its paces.

Very nice. I really like the placement of the climber.

I've heard nothing but excellent things about the Sony. If I wasn't heavily invested in Canon (and getting a killer deal on more gear), it would be a serious consideration for me.

That makes me miss winter. It's been 80 here for a week.

Do you know what route he was climbing? Did you take this from the road/bridge? I've seen alot of people toprope that climb.

Great comp! Really gives a sense of scale. The climber's position is perfect!

Thanks, all!

Scott - I don't know the names of the climbs, but this one is just downstream from the upper bridge. I was standing on one of the viewing platforms. Here's a wider view of the route.

That second one is way more powerful. What an incredible place. Enjoy the new toys!

WOW ! Those are so cool.
I think I like the first one best but both are awesome.

Why would anyone use a rope for a climb like that??
Cool shots, Jack!

Thanks for the clarification, Jack. I was thinking that it was a climb that I recently did called Berzerker on the upstream side of the bridge:

My apologies for not stopping by to say hello. Our trip was ended early when one of my climbing partners broke his ankle on a leader fall.
