Brad's post made me think of KS fence posts so I pulled this up from last Labor Day. It's Post Rock country with Wilson Lake in the background. Windy and hazy day, but it was the first time I'd seen Wilson Lake, so I shot it.
I knew this was Wilson Lake even before reading your info :). It feels like the road into Minooka Park. Nice capture of the post rock on what appears to be a typical summer day at Wilson Lake.

Hi Dena, I remember that was a hazy, windy day. Classic shot of a postrock post with barbed wire and the Yucca stems next to it. Nice shot.
Nice capture and good colors in the post. Now your challenge is to capture it without the haze !!! This looks like a great area to spend the day with a camera.
Dena, you said you were going to the Alabama Hills for a shoot. Go to the California forum and look at "Hilltop Convergence". It gives a sample of what you will be shooting.

I like this up close and personal look at post rock country Dena. Good detail in the post and the comp gives a nice sense of place. Really nice perspective.
Were this mine I would have done a little "housekeeping" before tripping the shutter. The one lone stem protruding into the sky would have magically disappeared.

Merle, thanks for the tip, I'm looking forward to shoot shots that are hopefully like that one.
Wayne, I agree, I need to work on my housekeeping skills.
