Nice catchlight to lift the eye from that dark cap John. Pleasing setting and background and at the risk of upsetting the 'anti cloning' brigade I'd be tempted to remove the dead stalks from LHS of image.

Nice... perhaps a tad more room below as that is the way the bird is looking.. the detail is great as is the typical pose

More space around somewhere (couldn't say where to be honest!) but lovely colours and sharpness - your windows must be made by Canon!

nicely taken John, the perch works well.

By the way, it's a Coal Tit rather than Cole Tit isn't it? I think I'd have noticed if we shared the same name

Fabulous John. These really don't stay still for long and you've got a lovely shot, lots of detail and not lost the eye. I'm an unashamed cloner at times so would also take out the left hand twigs which would give more strength to the two parallel diagonals in the comopsition

Thanks again all. Comments noted.
Matt- long story but it goes back to my childhood when some of the old books I had often called it "Cole " It's stuck with me ever since.

you're right John, I've just done a Google search and I can see that it was originally known as a Cole Tit. You learn something every day...

Hmm i'll stick my 2p in, and say i prefered it before. The empty space on the left makes it feel unbalanced to me. Then again i prefer images, with little photoshoppery and if the bird was in a hedge... its in a hedge :).

Nice shot none the less.

Nicely done John and the re-post works for me.. Would still like a little more room at the bottom as it looks just a little to tight in the frame for me.. Up to your usual standard though.. great details where needed..
