Hi does anyone have any experience with this software, and is it any good. I currently use Capture NX2, but its the slow and buggy, although the result are very good..
Hi Mark, The results from C1 4 are very good indeed, personally I don't think the pro version is worth all the extra pounds, the cheaper version does just about all you need unless of course there is a specific feature you need from the pro feature set.
I used to use C1 nearly all the time but have now settled on ACR5 mainly because it sits well in my workflow and version 5 is not far behind C1 in its conversion these days... (it is expensive though as it is part of CS4)
In most instances Capture One v4 is still the best raw processing software out there in my opinion. Never tried Bibble, but I've pretty much tried all the others (Adobe/DxO/Nikon/Canon).
CaptureOne gave me excellent results when I used it a few years back. I've not used it's newer incarnation (V4) other than a quick look as (like PhilH) it simply doesn't sit well in my workflow any longer (I tend to use Aperture as a DAM & Raw convertor & CS4 for anything else now). That said, if I needed to squeeze the last degree of quality out a shot, I'd probably look to C1 first, then to it's competitors.
You should find C1-4 does pretty much all you want/need without having to pay for C1-4Pro.
