One fix in particular may be of interest to many users who stack images in order to obtain greater depth of field: "The quality of the results of Auto-Blend Layers (Stack Images) has been improved."
I'm wondering how many people use the technique you describe... I assume you mean taking the same shot with several different focus points, then blending them.
It's always seemed like a hokey trick to me, but if it works well... maybe I should start trying it.

That's correct, Jack.
I tried it with 6 different images taken of a flower close up at different areas of focus, and it worked pretty well.
I'm interested in trying this on landscape images where I can use the aperture that provides the best image quality possible and still get tack sharp images from fore to aft. Seems like it would be far less complicated than close ups of flowers!
