For Chuck-March snowstorm 09
I thought I had my chance to get photos of Wilson Creek in snow as we received 6 inches in Morganton. When I could get out I drove up and NOTHING left!! I followed the Forestry road back out to Hwy 181 and kept on driving. At around the Brown Mtn overlook it was a winter wonderland again. The BRP hadn't been plowed yet and the good spots were closed off so I drove to the meadow where the highland games are held and took the view of Grand Father Mtn. That road back down was a little hairy but that's what 4WD and low gear was made for right?

I really love this leann. It could almost be two seperate photos. One Grandfather Mtn in all its glory and second with the trees with the shadows. Worth braving those roads, bet it was beautiful. :wavey:
