I would like to invite all of you who will be in the Portland area tomorrow evening to my first ever photo show. It will be held at Albina Community Bank in the Pearl district. The address is 430 NW 10th Ave and it is on the corner of NW 10th and Glisan. It starts at 6:00PM and ends at 9:00PM. Snack food and wine will be provided. So if you are out for the first thursdays in the pearl event tomorrow night please stop by.
I will have about 25 framed and matted photos on display. If you would like a taste of some of the photos which will be on display check out my website at www.austinbooth.com. It would mean a lot to me to see a few members of the forums here at the event. If you can't make it tomorrow night the photos will remain on display until the end of March. Sorry for the late notice on this one, I've been very busy lately getting all the photos in frames. You can e-mail me at austin@austinbooth.com if you have any questions. Thank you and I hope to see you there.
If I didn't live 220 miles away, I'd come check it out. I did a first Thursday in the Pearl last September on 13th and Glisan, and it went very well. I didn't sell as many photos up front as I would have liked, but the huge number of contacts made, spawned a fair amount of business later down the line, which easily covered the cost of a new printer and all of the materials needed for my show prints. Be prepared to schmooze it up with lots of folks, and hand out business cards like they are candy. You never know what kind of fish you might land. Have fun, and best of luck to ya! Oh, I don't know who is furnishing the wine, but sell it just as hard as your photos. People are a lot more likely to open their wallets once they get a little sauced up.
Austin,
If my Aunt I hadn't seen since 1986 wasn't here I would go. I plan on visiting her tomorrow afternoon and evening. I will try and make it while it's going on. Congrats on the show. It's alot of hard work so I hope you have a nice turnout.
Congratulations Austin on a successful show! My wife and I attended and enjoyed viewing your images. You are developing a great eye for your subject matter. I encourage you to move forward and purchase your own printer. This will bring more control over your printed images. Good luck in your photographic career.
So, how did it go? Hopefully it went well. I'm also curious what kind of turnout you had for this time of year.

The show went really well. I would like to thank Phil Knouf and John Christopher for coming out to my show, it really meant alot to me have some of you from the forums come out. If anyone else on here came out an chose not to announce their presence I would like to thank you as well.
I wasn't expecting many people to show other than those who I know which I invited myself. It ended up being a much greater turnout and more than I had hoped for especially considering the rainy weather. There was one time when there was probably over 20 people crammed in there at once. I only sold one photo to someone I know but hey, it paid for the mat cutter I purchased for this show and will save me on future framing projects. I do have some other possible buyers as well. I handed out about 50 business cards so hopefully something good comes from that. Overall it was a great experience for my first show and has really encouraged me to try and seek out more potential venues for my artwork in the future.

This is something I'd like to try sometime. Let us know how it goes.
FYI, on your website, there isn't anything posted under the About Me section. You'll want to update that soon for your business contacts.

I walked by the bank Friday night for an engagement shoot and I saw some of your photos hanging - very cool.
