Posted this on dig. im. forum but no response. Anyone here have any experience they'd like to share?
For years I've been using media street inks and refillable cartridges with great success with my canon printers - currently, i9900./ However, a new co. has taken over and have new cartridges that- till now, don't work - ink doesn't flow through them. What a pain. still working with the company but would like to know if anyone has had success with other refillable cartridges for canon i 9900. I've also been refilling original canon cartridges for years till they finally clog - I'm thinking it might be better to get a set of canon carts from amazon and just refill them. Thanks.

I bought a bulk ink setup on ebay for my Epson R220 for around $50. It has remote reservoirs with lines carrying the ink to "cartridges" in the printer. For the most part, I was VERY impressed with this system. I printed about 500 5x7 photo cards and a few dozen 8x10s with it before it stopped working. If I had used it everyday, I think it would have continued to work, but once I let it sit for a few weeks (probably a month) the ink wouldn't flow anymore. I estimate it saved me changing my ink at least 3 times which saved me close to $200.

I refilled my ink cartridges from early on.

Then I found out that the big three had the market tied up by making a deal with the people who sell the foam insert that controls the flow of ink out of the cartridge. I didn't believe the story until I bought some third party on the internet. When I opened the cartridges the ink just flowed out and ruined a perfectly good printer.

Most people don't realize that color ink is used to print a B & W composition. Ever wonder why you need color ink and you haven't printed any color??

I've moved on to laser printers. You can get a Samsung ML - 2510 for $ 55.00 on the net. Cartridges are $ 29.00. Dry ink doesn't clog nozzles and you get much greater mileage from the dry ink. Brothers has a cheap model also.
