Canada Goose Backlit
A definate marmite shot!!!
You do or you don't !!

A shot that just leapt out at me this morning, shooting straight into the reflected sun with the canada goose having a good splash.

Nikon 500f4 afs/11,Nikon D3,iso400,1/1000th f6.3,beanbag on floor

Cheers

Craig

quite like the top half of this image but the bottom does nothing for me, would crop it from the bottom taking off most of it to just below the water, might help toning down the contrast a bit too, other than that really like the patterns of water spray against the dark background

If it were an elephant it would be a WPOTY winner ! I think I would like it more if the water spray was centred more on the head. As it is the highlighted spray is drawing my eye to the arse end and sets me thinking "What is it?" before realising the head is at the other end.
So I'm afraid it's a no from me (though I am definitely a marmite fan!).

I think you're right, it is a marmite shot, but unlike marmite I like it, a lot.

Well done.

lol @ the marmite phrase, not heard that one before

Definitely agree though, these shots are either blindingly brilliant, or just a bit messy and random depending on the viewer, for me its the latter.. I think this would have been a show stopper if you'd have got a good bit of eye contact in some good light, something to give a bit of perspective. That said, it may well go on to win WPOTY!
