I'm seeing these everywhere at the moment (in my locality of Suffolk). Fantastic.

I was talking to a 'retired' farmer who rears cattle for a 'hobby' useing pastures adjacent to where I work in the mornings. I told him about a Barn Owl that had appeared this winter - the first I'd seen for 10yrs at this spot. Cutting a long story short he told me how he and another chap cut down an old Elm only to find there 'were' a couple of Barn Owls roosting in it.

The birds died.

Good old farmers...

Most farmers haven't got a clue when it comes to the wildlife around their farms and most don't give a shit, all about money nowadays.. Still, like you I'm seeing lots of Barn Owls about so it looks like they're doing ok at the moment and long may it continue...

Like the one legged pose and good detail showing on the face, did you put the post in?

Nice work.

Hello Tony

No - the post is part of some fencing.

The tree was cut down some time ago by the way. Probably during the 'Great Barn Owl cull'.

I've just commented on Anthony House's image as well. Out of the two, this shot just pips it for me ARD.

Great pose and background. Might take a smidge off the bottom to lose the ends of grass. Good to hear they're doing well
