Infrared Everglades
Had the opportunity to spend a couple of days in the Everglades with Paul Marcellini.

Phase One P45, 28mm, CS4 infrared b&w conversion.

Few more + hires version on my blog if you are interested.

Thanks Paul.

Very nice! The clouds and big sky give this one some dramatic pop!

Man, I love this, Ed. That little bush in the bottom left creates the perfect counterpoint to the streamers in the sky! Nice work.

Wonderful composition Ed, and an interesting effect. But it doesn't look like "real" infrared as defined by Kodak or maco infrared film. It's hard to tell because you can't see what the real scene looked like, but greens generally render very, very light.

Attached is a test shot of a mimosa tree in my backyard shot on Maco 820 film with a deep red IR filter.

Cheers,

steve

Thanks Steve. Not much green in this picture though since it is dry season in the everglades. The dark you see is a rich maroon color.

Ed,

Thanks for the information, that explains it. I wondered why that bush was dark.

I'll say again that's a wonderful composition, and I always like to see B&W. Well done.

Cheers, Steve
