I was wondering if I could get some advise on what type/brands of display panels and tents/canopies that people are using while selling photography at art shows. I'm considering getting into the art show realm and wasn't quite sure where to begin. I don't want to buy equipment only to find out that it's flimsy and falls apart in 15mph winds!
Thanks. :wavey:

Hey Kate, I do about twenty five shows a year, and have seen all the different tents and wall systems and these are your best bets for displays and dealing with weather issues. Stay away from the low end ez-up canopies, if weather gets bad they are the first to fold up. Make sure you have each canopy corner weighted down with at least forty pounds or more.
Good Luck

Hi Kate,
I have my first show coming up, and someone recommended Propanels to me also. They are sturdy and very professional looking, but costly. I spent $800 for 5 panels with hangers and support bars.

I've done more than my fair share of shows and Mike Moats is spot on..I use Propanels and a light dome. Best of luck. :wavey:

I agree, listen to Mike. I've done a lot of shows and he is right on. I use a Trimline tent and am thrilled with it. Great customer service! The Propanels are great too.

Mike was my show guru, he suggested the light dome and pro panels. He was right on, they have both been fantastic and look great.

Thanks again Mike.

The Light Dome tents and the Propanels are great for juried art shows lasting multiple days, however, if you are just starting out I would recommend the EZ Ups so you can "test the waters" before investing a lot of money in displays. I exhibit mainly at one day shows and the EZ Ups are the most practical for that type of show.

Propanels are expensive. I just did my first show and bought panels from Graphic Display Systems that were very reasonable. They also have the advantage that they are not solid but rather a wire mesh so when the wind came up, the panels did not act like a sail and blow away. I am very pleased. They are light, easy to carry and easy to assemble. I was up and running in about 10 minutes.

Thanks for the tip - I just googled the Graphic Display Systems panels, and they seem like the way to go, if new panels are going to be purchased.
