this is a very cool shot. I like the different colors of light in the canyons. What time of the year were you there?

Nice shot, and great detail in the rock. Kinda spooky though... did you see my tripod holes? Of course I'm sure I wasn't the first with this composition either. I love these slot canyons! Mine was taken in Feb of 2007. Was yours pretty recent?

Hey Kalin... dont really feel all that special at the moment.... :(
Mine was taken in august
That's amazing!
My own tripod holes were just a few feet away from both of yours in May last year here. I flipped mine around for some 'artistic' reason .
Don't feel too bad, Nate. It's quite interesting to see the light, tonal and color differences in all of these.
I like what you captured very much...the colors are luscious!
Perhaps darkening the brightest two areas of yellow in the upper left corner just a touch would be an asset.
Sweet image ~ The gold rock is a nice contrast, but as John said, darkening or even cropping the brightest area would add a lot.

Agree with the comments about a little darkening the highlights. Composition is great. Hope to get my tripod in some of those marks some day.

Hey Nate,
I certainly didn't post my shot to steel any of your thunder! Sorry if that was the impression. I really like your shot too. The different times of day, year, and exposure really highlight the different colors that you get with these subjects. You obviously had much more direct light. I just thought it was cool how close our compositions were, especially since this isn't an 'iconic' shot like other locations in upper Antelope.
I think you have more detail. My was shot with a Canon 20D with a Tamron 28-75/f2.8 at 63mm. What camera and lense did you use?
I apologize for throwing my shot into your thread.
