Not for critique as it's basically a snapshot but still a bit of a rarity for me to get. Today I had to forgo a morning with the camera because the missus is away and i had to walk her dogs so I just slung a short zoom over my shoulder and took them to a local Pill. I have seen otters in this location several times in the past but never in a regular pattern (as is the way with these animals) and sure enough, when not looking for them I see three cavorting in the open water. Not having a long lens I just watched and enjoyed the moment until they swam out of sight behind a small island just offshore. I took a guess as to what they might do next and managed to get through some undergrowth to the bank which creates a narrow channel between the island and shore and sure enough I could hear them splashing away as they fished along the bank towards me. Trying to keep the dogs away was the hardest part. I hoped the otters would come towards me and luckily they did, just as one of the dogs pushed past to see what was going on. I managed a couple of very quick shots before it dived and swam off to a respectful distance to take another look. The 'mush' in the foreground is a miniature schauzers head! Incidentally, a couple I met a few minutes after taking this said they had just watched two otters at the other end of the water so at least 5 otters on that stretch. Has made my weekend really.

Reallu like the motion in the water and the otter being in that corner. The OOF "blob" does not really work well for me..and you might try to clone that out.

Robert,
An opportunistic shot yet the quality is still good. I have only seen one otter so you are now on my most hated list The OOF blob adds to the story of the shot for me.
