sex and violence pt1
I spent 4 hrs on friday afternoon sitting in a net-hide on a disused gravel pit waiting for a chance to use my newly repaired lens on some of the native ducks, but none would come near enough. In the end I gave up and stuck the convertor on just to try and reach something. Of course a pair of canadas immediately started to perform in front of the camera and I ended up with a string of shots with wingtips and tails missing.
The evening light was going as I got these shots and I would have dearly loved to use a lower iso but I was struggling for speed already and so these are a bit noisier than I would have wished.

C&C more than welcome.

Sods law strikes again eh Eric? Still a really good capture.
I often think ,when pushing the iso up on these digital cameras, that we are so lucky to be able to do so. What could you have done if loaded with Sensia 100? The only problem I find is that when the light is dull or fading I'm tempted to use a higher iso just to get a result and then I'm often dissapointed with the quality. Just no pleasing some of us !!
Anyway, the picture is a decent reward for your patience.

I can't see the violence , they both look quite happy although he seems to be sweating a bit . I like the contrast of the blue water against the browns but wonder if the picture would brighten up a tad ?.

A well timed image, I guess in terms of the 'violence' it doesn't put it over that well in this shot, but from seeing it first hand these blitters can be pretty harsh on eachother !

Great shot, I have similar where the female is almost completely under the water, it seems a very violent way of treating a mate.

Great shot in the circs.

This looks fine to me Eric, can't really see any noise problem. Really nice capture with the spray
