This is my first time with my camera there at Sunset Cliff. At the end of the street there is this dirt parking lot. I hiked all the way along the coast when I saw this dead tree trunk sticking out of the field with the setting sun in the background. With the reflection of the sun in the ocean, the parallel wave, I put on my sunglasses, tried to point the tip of the tree trunk on the sun. This feels like the glow touching that ET's finger. I thought this is an abstract form with line, curve and color. What do you think?
Any comment and suggestions are appreciated. Canon 5DM2, 70-200mm lens at 200mm, 1/200 s at f8, ISO 100, hand held. Converted from Raw to Jpeg

Andre,
The "E.T." reference is perfect! The silhouetted tree works well and I like the sunset colors despite the blank sky. The only issue I have, and it really shows with the vertical format, is the tilted horizon. One of those things I don't understand why folks don't check or see that before posting. Easily fixed. Nice sunset.

Hi, Lon -
Good catch. Thans for the suggestion. Here's the corrected version.
This composition for me is like a 1980's style vacation flyer photo composition. I dunno if it's a compliment or not... It's not a bad composition idea, but it's too monochrome for my taste.
BTW, you've got a little glare on ET's ring finger to brush off. :)

Hi, Dan -
Now that you mentioned it, it does look like a Seguaro Cactus with the sun behind it, like a traveling brochure for Arizona or New Mexico. Although that's not my intention, but there's indeed quite a similarity. Thanks for remind me that.
